David was born in Ogden Utah. He moved with his parents in the late ‘70s to Southwest Missouri and grew up in Sarcoxie Missouri. He graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1992 and served a two year church mission to the Pacific Northwest from 1993 - 1995. He met and married his wife, Tracy, in 1996. Together they raised 3 kids and now have one grandchild.

David has spent the last 15 years in the Medicare health insurance field and has seen first hand how the current health care system in the United States can improve. To make change he decided to either run for public office or start a charity. He and Tracy decided to start The Auxilium Group. Now they are focused on helping those on Medicare with co-pay assistance, insurance plan counseling, and group/individual counseling.
